All-New Fire HD 8 Tablet with Alexa, 8″ HD Display, 32 GB

I couldn’t put off getting used to Android style devices any longer – so I got this to try out.

As I do with all my devices, I started by trying to install my McAfee on this tablet, to no avail along with a few other apps I normally use.

I understand Amazon’s need to provide their own app store but really guys, you need to have a word with the major software manufacturers to add to your app store.

I solved this particular problem by installing another Anti-Virus which is in the Amazon app store.

The good news is that I was able to connect with my Microsoft OneDrive and OneNote.

Of course anything Amazon is well covered along with integration to my Google account.

Excellent battery life, good HD screen and easy setup.

Liking it more every day for entertainment.

Surface 3 64GB

I’ve had this Microsoft Surface 3 64Gb for a couple of weeks now.

In a word “Impressive”.

At first, I was cautious about buying one of these, so I opted for the cheapest model at a reasonable £348 for the base unit, which in essence is a 10.8″ tablet.

I have since added a type keyboard and surface pen, I had an existing Bluetooth mouse to give me a range of options to control the computer in a variety of ways.

Without getting too technical, the processor is a Quad-core Intel Atom x7-Z8700 processor – 1.6GHz with Intel Burst technology up to 2.4GHz, 2GB of Memory and 64GB of on board storage.

Plenty for everyday purposes.
